The
special qualities of our Herefordshire grown Asparagus.
Only sheltered partly from
the elements by a traditional cider orchard, our asparagus has been
planted in the rich alluvial soils of Hampton Bishop where we have
farmed on the banks of the majestic river Wye since the 1920's.
Over the last two years the
asparagus has been left to grow naturally, and slowly mature over
the summer months. It is only this season in 2005 that the crop
is now ready for its' first harvest.
Passionately believing that
a combination of the inherently silty soils of Hampton
Bishop, natural plant maturity, and the ability to wait for nature
to take its' course during the growing season - without the use
of any kind of man-made shelters - is really the only way to fully
cultivate that true asparagus taste, ...only then, can you really
enjoy and appreciate, fine British asparagus at its best.
Cut to order, and delivered
direct to our customers to maintain its freshness; our asparagus
provides those with a discerning palette - and an appreciation for
fine seasonal food - the true traditional taste and texture, that
only British Asparagus can offer.
Finest
Asparagus direct from the grower, picked one day, with you the next.
